A series of tartan rugs translates the traditional Scottish designs into thick, soft floor rugs. This rug is hand-woven in the Angus District tartan. Scottish tartans are divided into two categories: the clan tartans, which were worn by a particular clan or family; and, the district tartans, which were worn by all Scots within a geographical region or district. The district tartans are believed to be the most ancient of designs. This Angus District tartan is woven in the "old colors", which approximates the dyed wools of the time. I am able to weave most known and registered tartans, and invite interested individuals to contact me for more information. |
